What about the ADA.
I am a Special Education teacher in the state of Georgia. I have recently recieved injuries that have led to me needing the use of a wheelchair or crutches at all times. Before the injury I did not stop to think if all of my students could navigate in all of the facilities located in my surrounding environment. My husband and I decided to go to a store twenty minutes form our home town. When we got there the store had not wheelchairs for customer use as well as the isles were so packed that it made our shopping trip difgficult for me to navigate. I finally had to rest from the use of crutches and the only spot for me to sit was on top of the stack of dog food. I was so agrivated. Then it hit me, if I took my students on a field trip to this store I would not be able to get one of my students through the store. Then, I began looking around at other businesses in the area and noticing that this was not the only store that would be difficult. I now would like to make an effort to make the quality of life for my students with disablilities to have an easy time navigating around the environment they live in.

Sign Language
Wow! What a new way of speaking. I am more impressed with American Sign Language than any other language that I have studied. I never realized how much is said with actions and movement. I am recently taking a small crash course on ASL. It is only going to last for 12 sessions however in one day I can see how I would love to lean the language fluently. I feel that by knowing this language I am a better person. So many times we take for granted the ability to hear. I never gave it much mind until I met someone who could not hear. I find it amazing how full of life that person is. I feel as though they value things more so than I do. I truly believe that due to never understanding and still having no actual way of understanding what deaf people go through I will never appreciate ASL the way that deaf people do. Also I have recently gotten to know a gentleman who is an interpreter and I believe that he has a special calling from God. This is just a thought I had and deciede that put out there.

Twilight Saga
I am always very careful as to what my niece is allowed to read. I feel that it is my job to protect her against garbage that is out there. I feel that the Twilight Saga was well written and I tip my hat to the author. She kept me interested in the story line so much that I was standing in line at the bookstore for the release. I also want to say that her fourth book Breaking Dawn was so well written that I was lost for words. She took a topic that can be scethy and made it easy to read. I am allowing my niece to read the entire set.
